What with the multitude of different DVD - and now Blu Ray - versions of WKW movies that exist, I was thinking perhaps we should create one thread that lists all the differences between discs.

So we're talking about which has the best picture, extras, and other things like different credits and scenes, soundtracks, and other miscellaneous points too.

I can't say that I'll be able to provide too much information towards this mini-project but I think it would be a very useful reference tool for old and new members as we seem to go over these details repeatedly.

I can edit this first post to constantly update the information as we pool it together.

What do you all think?

And you should! As far as I know, the only Blu-rays out there are:

1) Chungking Express (Criterion, the best out there with improved subtitles)
2) Days of Being Wild (Mega Star, solid picture, terrible subtitles)
3) As Tears Go By (Mega Star, solid picture, unsure of subtitles)
4) Ashes of Time (Artificial Eye, since it's the Redux, I assume there's nothing better out there)
5) Fallen Angels (Kino, MISSING IN ACTION)

This site is fantastic for keeping up: http://www.asianblurayguide.com/

My Blueberry Nights has also been released on Blu-ray in the UK, France and Japan.
The UK Optimum Releasing Blu-ray seems the best in terms of extras.

http://www.dvdcompare.net/ and http://www.dvdbeaver.com/ are useful in comparing the DVD releases.

Oops. I have a tendency to... just forget about My Blueberry Nights. Sinful... or not?

I'm guessing you're not the only one that wants to forget it.

Forgetting Blueberry is nothing; I have a tendency to forget As Tears Go By, which is a far better film. Shame on me.

Is this still getting done? A definitive comparison thread would be awesome.

We were treated to several Blu-Ray WKW releases and then nothing. I guess the last one was Fallen Angels...
Anyone care to guess which will be the next from his back catalogue to be released in Blu-Ray, and when?
