Yep, this was discussed a while back. Thanks for bringing it up in case others want to talk about it.

Awesome. I've known the song for a long time but never saw the vid before.

Edit: And apparently Chris Doyle shot the video to their 2005 single Getaway too. Curiouser and curiouser...

Awesome! Thanks for posting! Some interesting commentary from WKW on one of the vids as well. I never knew working with Faye Wong changed Tony's whole approach to acting. Love trivia like that! :D

am extremly frustrated that a friend of mine who i suggest to watch my favourite of Wongkarwai "Chungking Express" didn´t like & didn´t understand it! it´s obvirously what this movie reflects. sorry to download my frustration here . but there you can see , taste is something that not everyone understand.

I've had that type of response. Friend of mine could only relate to the 'stalker girl' plot of CKE. Really though, people take from the film what they want. And that's what I enjoy about his films.

Of all WKWs films I don't like Chungking Express either. I don't find the stories charming but forced and farcical.

This is from a Japanese WKW box set, but you can also find these deleted scenes on Artificial Eye's DVD and BluRay auf CE. There you can watch them with English Subtitles, but the image quality is a little bit worse due to the NTSC-to-PAL-transfer.

I'm kinda glad he didn't make CKE the way the deleted scenes suggest. Just how divergent his ideas were is pretty amazing, especially if the shoot was really only 3 weeks or so.

I agree partly - I'm happy about the way the first episode turned out in the end. But the deleted scenes of Tony and Faye still fit the second episode, don't they?

Yeah, some of the extra Faye and Tony stuff worked well. In fact, although in the final version Faye puts the sleeping pills in Tony's bottled water at his home, you can still see her counting and reading the instructions while she is at the stall, so it probably does make more sense for her to drug him at work.
